Get ready to be blown away—Zeekr has just unveiled jaw-dropping updates to its 007 GT and 007 EV models, packing a staggering 784 horsepower under the hood. But here’s where it gets controversial: is this power boost a game-changer or overkill for everyday drivers? Let’s dive in.

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has spilled the beans on Zeekr’s latest upgrades, and they’re nothing short of impressive. Both the 007 all-electric sedan and the 007 GT station wagon now boast more powerful electric motors, delivering up to 148 additional horsepower. That’s not all—they’ve also been equipped with a cutting-edge 900V high-voltage architecture and NVIDIA’s next-gen DRIVE Thor-U chip for advanced driving assistance. Slated for a Q2 2026 launch, these vehicles will be available in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations.
Design Tweaks That Matter
The Zeekr 007 GT’s sleek exterior remains largely unchanged, but don’t let that fool you. Subtle adjustments to its dimensions—now measuring 4858/4880 mm in length, 1900 mm in width, and 1460/1445 mm in height—offer more customization options. The wheelbase stays at 2925 mm, slightly shorter than the current model. And this is the part most people miss: the updated 007 GT introduces carbon fiber kits for the front fascia, side skirts, and rear spoiler, adding a touch of luxury and aerodynamics.
The Zeekr 007 sedan also gets a refresh, with added air vents on the lower bumper and similar carbon fiber upgrades. Its dimensions are nearly identical to the GT, with a 2925 mm wheelbase and a slightly shorter length of 4858/4880 mm.
Performance That Packs a Punch
Both models roll on 19-inch and 20-inch rims, paired with 245/45 R19 and 255/40 R20 tires, respectively. Here’s where the magic happens: the RWD variant now delivers a maximum 370 kW (496 hp), a 60 kW (80 hp) jump from the current model. The AWD version, however, steals the show with an additional 215 kW (288 hp) motor, pushing the combined output to a mind-boggling 585 kW (784 hp). That’s a 110 kW (148 hp) increase—enough to leave most sports cars in the dust.
Pricing and Range: The Practical Side
Currently, the Zeekr 007 GT offers three trims with CLTC cruising ranges from 585 km to 825 km, priced between 202,900 and 232,900 yuan (29,200–33,600 USD). The Zeekr 007 sedan, on the other hand, has four trims with ranges from 616 km to 870 km, starting at 209,900 yuan and going up to 299,900 yuan (30,300–43,200 USD).
The Big Question: Is More Power Always Better?
While the upgrades are undeniably impressive, they raise a thought-provoking question: Do everyday drivers really need 784 horsepower? Or is this a move to appeal to a niche market of performance enthusiasts? Let us know your thoughts in the comments—is Zeekr’s power play a step forward or a step too far?
