One of his most notable achievements was his work on America the Beautiful, which played through multiple versions at Disneyland for over 17 years and was also featured at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT Center. Iwerks also engineered 3-D film and in-theater effects for Captain EO and built the projection system for the Star Tours attraction.
