Celebrating the Life of Ken Wiseman: A Loving Tribute (2026)

Kenneth (Ken) Philip Wiseman, a beloved member of the St. Phillip's community, passed away on December 31st at the age of 63, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and music. His sudden and brief battle with acute illness marked the end of a life well-lived, filled with dedication to his family, friends, and community.

Ken's working life was spent in the construction industry, alongside his brothers, where hard work and loyalty were the norm. But it was his passion for people and music that truly defined him. Ken's quick wit and infectious humor made him the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter to every gathering. Whether it was playing the piano or guitar or leading a time of singing, music was an integral part of his identity.

One of Ken's most cherished roles was being a grandfather to his six grandchildren. He found immense pride and joy in their presence, and his family was a constant source of support and love. Ken's faith was also a significant part of his life, and he often ended gatherings with songs of worship to God, reflecting his deep connection to his beliefs.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, and his brother, Terry (Carol Anne) Wiseman. He is also remembered by his sister-in-law, Cheryl (Steven, deceased), and his children, Shelby (Nathan) Thorne and Hilary (Justin) Wiseman. Ken's parents, Chelsey and Mildred Wiseman, and his brother, Stephen (Cheryl) Wiseman, preceded him in death, but their love and memories live on through the many extended family members and friends who cherished him.

The community will have the opportunity to pay their respects at Carnell’s Funeral Home, located at 329 Freshwater Rd., on Sunday, January 4th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Ken's life will take place at Calvary Baptist Church, 775 Topsail Rd., on Monday, January 5th, at 1:00 p.m. Ken's passing has left a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who knew him.
